| Slowly but surely the Sequoyah Club is becoming the exclusive rendezvous of the elite. With the coming of the warm sunshiny days and balmy nights this fact has become so emphasized as to cause pangs to those of society not included on the vellum of its roster. At the time of its establishment the calamity howlers predicted a fiasco for the enterprise. They vowed it was too far from the heart of things to ever be the howling success the promoters hoped for. But time has proven the error of their surmise--time and the automobile. Half the beauty of this nabob club is its sequestered location. So vow its devotees. Nothing more enticing is to be had than a motor trip to the low, humble hills of its setting and once there--la, la! There is nothing of the promiscuous membership which is the fate of all other clubs of long standing. Such was the motive which prompted its creation. Therefore, its members, like one large congenial family, feel free of constraint and joyous times are theirs. Golf for the days and dinner dances and general joyous pow-wows for the nights--that is the program of its hours and those who have had the good fortune to be counted in the festive happenings of the last two weeks are happier than happy that they are of the clan that has entree within its gilded gates. |
